At a recent screening of Florence Foster Jenkins, the writer of the movie Nicholas Martin spoke to the audience about the writing process which led to the film. The audience was invited to capture proceedings on video, so we did.
The video below of Nicholas Martin speaking about working on the movie, the inspiration, casting, production etc is not great quality – we were sat further back with our smartphone camera in a not particularly well lit room. It has been stabilised and cropped, but hopefully you can hear what Nicholas Martin has to say.
There are some very vague spoilers included in the talk, but being a biopic the story is already public record.
Set in 1944, Florence Foster Jenkins is the story of the titular New York socialite – someone who has been described as the worst singer in the world.

Our review of the film will be posted later next week.
